The game between closely ranked teams ended with 3rd ranked ItalianTrieste 's (1-3) home loss to second ranked Spanish Gran Canaria (3-1) 70-94 on Wednesday. Gran Canaria looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Argentinian Nicolas Brussino (205-1993) who helped to win the game recording 15 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and French power forward Pierre Pelos (205-1992) who added 17 points and 6 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) during the contest. Four Gran Canaria players scored in double figures. At the losing side American Markel Brown (193-1992, college: OK State) responded with 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and Mexican-American Juan Toscano-Anderson (198-1993, college: Marquette) scored 16 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Gran Canaria have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with 5 other teams. Trieste lost third consecutive game. They keep the third place with three games lost.
